Class: a poem

All the rich people with their expensive cars,

Their HDTVs, and touch screen phones.

They don’t need to labor ‘cause they’ve got it all.

Meanwhile, all the rest of us moan

About how we don’t have enough to eat

Or how we’re just barely making ends meet.

And the rich get richer and the poor get poorer

Life goes on and the rest of us lose.

All the rich people with their designer bags,

Brand name clothes, and gold wristwatches.

They can afford all these high-end names.

Meanwhile, all the rest of us imagine

How we would live if we were them.

But that’s just it, it’s fantasy.

And the rich get richer and the poor get poorer

Life goes on and the rest of us lose.

All the rich people with their long vacations,

Manhattan penthouses, and courtside seats.

They’ve got the money to spend on these things.

Some of them probably cost more

Than what the rest of us make in a year.

We can only dream of having them.

And the rich get richer and the poor get poorer

Life goes on and the rest of us lose.

All the rich people with six-figure salaries,

Tailored suits, and elegant dresses.

They’ve got more than enough to live a fine life.

Yet they insist on raising their pay,

And cutting the wages of the rest of us.

This is how today’s world works.

The rich get richer, the poor get poorer,

Life goes on, and the rest of us lose.

  1. Strange this post is totaly unrelated to what I was searching google for, but it was listed on the first page. I guess your doing something right if Google likes you enough to put you on the first page of a non related search.
