typoattack’s photo of the week

With all the hubbub going on about Louis Armstrong Stadium being torn down after this year’s Open, I figured it would be a good time to share this.

This is a canvas print of the pre-Ashe configuration of Louis Armstrong, commissioned by the USTA for the 1995 US Open. It currently hangs in the concourse of the Grandstand in an area that is publicly accessible but seemingly lightly trafficked. I certainly hope they hang it in the new Armstrong once it is built!
