Today we have a special Mother’s Day edition of the Song of the Week.
Bet you never expected to see the Backstreet Boys — or any boy band like them — in this series. What can I say, though, I grew up on late 90s/early 2000s radio pop, and the Backstreet Boys were always my favorite. If CDs wore out the same way records and cassettes do, Millennium would have been in serious danger.
When I was thinking about what to post this week, this was the first song that came to mind. I’m sure there are plenty of other songs about mothers, but this is the one that sticks with me. It’s a beautiful song of gratitude for all of the things a good mother does for her child(ren), and if reminds me a lot of my own mother. Even though she has a habit of not reading my posts on here, she has always supported me in every endeavor. I can absolutely identify with the idea that she’s my “perfect fan.”
Happy Mother’s Day to my own mother, my fellow bloggers’ mothers, and all of your mothers (and you, if you are yourself a mother!).
Don’t forget to like us on Facebook! But spend some time with your mother and make her some breakfast first, she deserves it!
